Switching Salary account to another bank.

As a state government employee of Andhra Pradesh, I wish to switch my salary account to a different bank. However, the senior assistant requires me to get a no due certificate from my current bank. Is it mandatory ?

A bank is a financial institution that accepts deposits from the public and creates a demand deposit while simultaneously making loans, mobilising saver surplus to deficit spenders.

If the concerned Bank is a Government Bank, you can file RTI to the Bank for information regarding the rules and procedures for no due certificate for switching Salary account to another Bank.
