No. You can not file complaint through an RTI application. However, if you have filed a Complaint to any Government Body, a Police Station or to any other Public Authority under the provision of Section 2(h) of the RTI Act, you can file a RTI to know the status of the same.
A RTI application may be filed to know regarding the actions taken on the complaint, name and designation of officials who are responsible to address the complaint, any time limit fixed within which the same needs to be addressed, progress report etc.
The RTI application should be addressed to the designated PIO of the Department and must be accompanied by the complaint number, date of complaint and a copy of the same.
