RTI for loans distributed

  • Can I get the details under RTI:

    1) The total number of loans distributed by the Bank of Baroda, Motihari Branch, Bihar during the period 2015-16.

    2) The total number of loans distributed for small business to Tuhara caste people.

    3) The total number of loans distributed to ST, SC and General caste people.

  • RTI Experts

    Yes.

The bank is a public authority and the RTI Act is applicable to it.

The first query with respect to the details of loans can be obtained under section 2 (f) of the RTI Act and you could obtain certified copies of the relevant documents and records.

However, there might be a possibility that the bank may not be maintaining such records on the basis of caste seperately. Under Section 7(9) of the RTI Act, information can be denied which would disproportionately diver the resources of the authority.
