RTI to know if Jay Kay Offset Printers deposited CST
Received Invoices from Jay Kay Offset Printers, 17, DSIDC (SFS), Rohtak Road, Nangloi Ind. Area, Delhi -110041 thru honourable Tis Hazari court.
The above printers has charged 5% CST in aforesaid bills amounting Rs. 26,636.00 against the printing job activity of educational books.
As per the Indian law, no printer should suppose to charge CST on printing job work of educational books.
I would like to know that whether the above mentioned printer has deposited CST to the government or not through RTI.
The tax return filed by any entity with the tax authorities is in good faith in order to discharge their responsibilities under the concerned tax law and as such the information would be exempt from disclosure under Section 8. Various CIC judgments have held that such information cannot be disclosed for personal use.
However, if you are able to show a larger public interest that warrants disclosure of such information through your application, then under section 2(f) of the RTI Act, you could obtain such documents and records.
