WANT TO KNOW THE FUND ALLOCATED FOR PARTICULAR DAY TO THE BANK BRANCH

  • Can somebody advise is it possible under RTI act 2005 to know the fund allocated to particular branch for a particular day. As i wanted to withdraw an amount from my bank & the branch manager denied stating that they are out of cash.

  • RTI Experts

    Depends.

If the said bank is a nationalized bank, then the RTI Act would be applicable as nationalized banks are public authorities.

If the said bank is a private bank, then the RTI Act would not applicable as RTI Act is not applicable to private bodies/organisations.

You could also address your application to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) which is a public authority.

Under section 2(f), you could obtain documents and records relating to the actual policy adopted by the board with respect to the subject matter of your query. You could also obtain specific information in terms of the policy adopted with respect to specific instances and then see possible instances of any discrepancies in the policy adopted. You could obtain copies of orders/notifications issued by the authority in this regard along with copies of communications/correspondence exchanged between departments/officials along with figures and statistics.
