Didn't receive my KSOU provisional degree

  • Sir/Madam,

My name is Vishal Kumar and I have done my Bachelor Degree (Bsc. IT) from KSOU on January 2013. After that I have applied for migration certificate and provisional degree on 18 August 2016 with fulfilling all the formalities at university campus (Mysore). According to rules as per written in the application form the migration certificate and provisional degree would be delivered at given address within sixteen working days. But it's been one and half month and I didn't receive my documents at my given address. Is it possible to get these certificates by using RTI?

  • RTI Experts

    Depends.

If the said university is a government university, then it is a public authority and the RTI Act is directly applicable to it. You could obtain the relevant documents and records under section 2(f) of the RTI Act.

If the said university is a deemed university by the UGC, then it is directly covered under the RTI Act and you could obtain the relevant documents and records under section 2(f) of the RTI Act. Various CIC judgments have held the private deemed universities are under the RTI Act.

If the university is a private university, then you will have to approach the University Grants Commission (UGC) to obtain the relevant information about the college through the RTI Act.

You could obtain the reasons as to why the degree has not been released and also the timelines by which the same shall be released.
